MQM not to collect hides of sacrificial animals this Eid: sources

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will not collect hides of sacrificial animals on Eidul Azha, after dissociating itself from MQM founder.

Leather market sources said, MQM was the key hide supplier from Karachi and interior Sindh for leader industry and approximately collects 100,000 sacrificial animals hides every year only in the mega city.

This will be the first time, MQM was not collecting sacrificial animals’ hides in more than three decades period.

Leader market sources said, they have not received any tender from MQM this year yet.

In the absence of MQM, sources said, Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) of Mustafa Kamal has also not made any such announcement for collecting the hides.

MQM had been engaged in collecting the hides with aggressive campaign through its units since 1985.

Analysts are of view that this situation would benefit charitable organizations, mosques and communities as their share would likely to go up.
